Abstrakty

Autorki przeprowadziły badania dotyczące przygotowania materiałów dydaktycznych (wykładów, ćwiczeń, testów) i udostępniania ich w sieci internetowej dla przedmiotu algorytmy i struktury danych, obowiązującego studentów I roku studiów na specjalności sieciowe systemy informatyczne. W pracy omówione zostały dwa rodzaje przygotowanych pomocy dydaktycznych; materiały do wykładu umożliwiającego samokształcenie oraz program symulujący pracę maszyny RAM (Random Acceess Machine), sprawdzający poprawność postaci źródłowej programu napisanego w wymienionym języku. Skuteczność zaproponowanej metody zdalnego kształcenia została sprawdzona na wybranej grupie studentów studiów dziennych i zaocznych.

This paper describes a process of preparing appropriate materials for distance learning in the subject of Algorithms and data structures. The development and growth of teleinformatic technologies has opened new prospects in education, such as the opportunity to establish a Virtual Polytechnic - a higher education institution that would enable distance learning. It is highly probable that this education model will steadily grow in importance and popularity, as there is a need for constant additional training and knowledge acquisition, especially in the rapidly ever evolving scientific domains such as computer science. In such domains, complementary acquisition of knowledge will require continuous training, as knowledge prescription will occur already in the course of studying. Organising on-line courses involves preparation of teaching materials, such as lectures, practical exercises, and tests which students can then access via the Internet. This paper is concerned with the process of preparing such materials for first-year computer science students in the subject of Algorithms and data structures. More specifically, the materials prepared are aimed at providing assistance for the students in an area that has proved particularly problematic in the past, namely in the methods of creating programmes for the RAM machine. This paper presents two types of didactic aids: lecture materials that enable individual/distance knowledge acquisition, and a programme simulating the work of the RAM machine, which is therefore able to verify programmes written in the above mentioned computer language. The effectiveness of the distance learning method proposed in this paper has been verified with a group of full time students and extramural students. (original abstract)
