In the paper, a new method of the measurement of the empirical cardinal utility function of income is proposed. By analogy, our approach will be called "the Cracow Method" (CM). The CM offers the estimation technique which overcome the weakness of the LM. In the framework of the CM, the model of the cardinal utility function has the form which can over a wider class of the marginal utility function than the LM does. Moreover, the CM makes possible to formulate an alternative set of the Income Evaluation Questions.

W pracy zaproponowano nową metodę pomiaru funkcji użyteczności dochodu. Modele funkcji użyteczności umożliwiają obliczenie linii ubóstwa. Proponowana metoda usuwa podstawową niedogodność metody Lejdejskiej Linii Ubóstwa: arbitralny pomiar użyteczności dochodu. W pracy proponuje się również nowe sformułowanie "Pytań Oceniających Dochód". Na podstawie niewielkiej próby pilotażowej przedstawiono niektóre wstępne rezultaty empiryczne.
