Przedstawiono i zanalizowano zasady i reguły organizujące politykę gospodarczą UE na XXI wiek. Wyrażono przypuszczenie, że najbliższa dekada będzie raczej okresem konsolidacji obecnego sposobu jej funkcjonowania niż czasem radykalnych zmian.

This article discusses the development of economic governance in the European Union. The author analyses various types of policy instruments available at the supra-national level and concludes that common policies will remain limited to market-building and efficiency measures, while economic policies with strong distributional implications will remain national due to the high diversity of preferences within the societies of EU Member States.
