Abstrakty
W artykule przedstawiono problem całkowania numerycznego z wykorzystaniem metod Monte Carlo z funkcją ważności. Metody te zostały zastosowane we wnioskowaniu bayesowskim przy analizie trendu logistycznego opisującego popyt na dobro trwałe oraz do procesu modelującego dane finansowe.
This paper reviews Monte Carlo with Importance Sampling. We show hot to use this methods to solve some integration problems connected with Bayesian inference. As illustrations of the MC-IS method we present Bayesian inference on the parameters of a logistic trend representing demand for a certain durable good and of a conditional heteroskedastic process (GARCH(2,2)) used in modelling daily financial data. We calculate measures of convergence such as NSE - Numerical Standard Error, RNE - Relative Numerical Efficiency, and γn - the variation coefficient of MC weights. According to the obtained results we can claim that the most important in Monte Carlo integration is the optimal choice of importance function. If the sampling mechanism does not respect tails of the posterior density then the approximation of posterior means of functions of interest can be distant from the true value.
