Abstrakty
EN
Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) is net present value of the future discounted cashflows generated by a single customer or a segment. CLV is used to forecast revenues, which can be expected during duration of relation between customer and supplier. Since the late 80-ties, when this concept has been introduced into marketing literature, numerous models have been developed and tested. There are three groups of them to be found in the literature: models for CLV calculation, customer portfolio or equity models, and normative models, which aim to direct marketing strategy. Models for these three groups are presented and critically evaluated in this paper. The usefulness of the CLV concept in managerial decision making is further discussed. (original abstract)
