Przedstawiono sytuację gospodarczą w Irlandii przed 1989 rokiem. Omówiono europejską politykę spójności w Irlandii w latach 1989-2006. Przeanalizowano zmiany jakie zaszły w gospodarce Irlandii do 2003 roku i zamieszczono wynikające z nich wnioski dla Polski.

In this article, the author undertakes a brief analysis of the manner of using structural fund resources in Ireland from 1989 to 2006. Beginning with a short presentation of the economic situation of the country in the 1980s, the author describes the measures that were pursued under the four main priorities of European cohesion policy in Ireland. In subsequent sections, the author presents selected macroeconomic data that show the scale of changes in the Irish economy. Next, based on an analysis of sectoral operational programmes in Poland in 2004-2006, the author offers conclusions and recommendations for Polish structural policy. (original abstract)
