Przedstawiono ocenę stabilności systemu finansowego w Polsce po 1 maja 2004 r. na poziomie mikro- i makroekonomicznym w świetle standardów europejskich. Pokazano stopień zgodności lub zbieżności polskich regulacji ostrożnościowych ze standardami europejskimi. Omówiono aktualny stan realizacji wybranych składników rynku finansowego.

An analysis of the state of the financial system in Poland after 1 May 2004 is important given the fact that Poland, in becoming a member of the European Union, has been included in the process of integration of the European financial system, which requires system stability. Poland, as a member of the European Union, has been automatically included in a series of studies on the stability of financial systems, the manifestation of which is to be the adjustment of the Polish legal system to the solutions contained in the so-called economic policy code of conduct. This task is aimed at promoting - and foremost standardising - the rules for conducting safe financial policy on the micro and macroeconomic scale, and ultimately is meant to lead to the creation of a new international financial system. In the case of Poland, whose financial system has been partially integrated with the European Union's financial system (full integration ensues the moment Poland enters the Euro zone), the adjustment of legal regulations on the financial sector to EU law is also key. For this reason also, cognizant of the foregoing, it is important that the following issues be analysed: 1. Evaluation of the stability of the financial system in Poland after 1 May 2004 on the micro and macroeconomic levels with respect to European standards. 2. State and prospects of various financial markets in Poland. 3. Currency, money, capital and derivatives markets. 4. Polish prudential regulations and their conformance with European standards. 5. Current status of implementing selected financial market components. (original abstract)
