Abstrakty

Omówiono teoretyczne podstawy integracji walutowej: klasyczne ujęcie teorii integracji walutowej, analizę kosztów i korzyści w teorii optymalnych obszarów walutowych oraz współczesne podejście do teorii optymalnych obszarów walutowych. W drugiej części przedstawiono perspektywy integracji walutowej na kontynencie amerykańskim: uwarunkowania historyczne integracji walutowej i jej formy, a następnie koncepcje integracyjne w Ameryce Północnej (Kanady, Meksyku i USA), Wschodniokaraibską Unię Walutową oraz integrację walutową w Ameryce Środkowej i Południowej (dolaryzacja w regionie, Mercosur).

In this paper theoretical foundations of monetary integration were described together with classical terms of monetary integration theory, costs and profits analysis in optimal monetary areas theory and modern approach to optimal monetary areas theory. In the second part of this article perspectives of monetary integration in the American Continent were presented. Also integration concepts in North America, monetary integration in Middle and South America and East Caribbean Currency Union were discussed. (KZ)
