The Risk of Inheriting Social Inequalities among the Young Inhabitants of European Medium-Sized Towns
Języki publikacji
Abstrakty
The article attempts at estimating the incidence of intergenerational transmission of inequalities in 8 European medium-size towns and pointing to similarities and differences in this respect among young inhabitants of old and new (postsocialist) EU countries. The analyses are based on the results of the survey conducted among the samples of 13O-25O young adults (25-29 years) in each town under study (168O respondents altogether). In empirical mobility analysis the scheme of EGP (Erikson-Goldthorpe-Portocarero) class division was applied.(original abstract)
