Przedstawiono historię powstania biur regionalnych, przyczyny ich tworzenia w Brukseli, typy biur regionalnych oraz ich główne funkcje. Omówiono także powstanie polskich biur regionalnych w Brukseli.

The regional representations in Brussels become a new phenomenon in the European Union. They serve as a link between home regions and European institutions. Their creation is connected with the reform of the European regional policy (decentralization, bigger role of regions in its preparation and realization, substantial structural funds). The main aim of this paper is to prove, that regional representations became an important channel of representing regional interest in the European Union. The article will present the functions and types of regional representations and motives of their creation. (original abstract)
