International Competition in taxes and its implications for Mideastern Europe

Abstrakty
Zdaniem autora, w dyskusji o międzynarodowej konkurencji podatkowej brakuje opracowań dotyczących krajów UE-10, analizujących wady i zalety konkurencji podatkowej w omawianym regionie, wyjaśniających jej źródła oraz analizujących jej społeczno-ekonomiczne implikacje. Autor zamierza częściowo wypełnić tą lukę w literaturze za pomocą analizy źródeł konkurencji podatkowej w UE-10 oraz jej wpływu na przepływy BIZ, dochody podatkowe, efektywność systemów podatkowych oraz dobrobyt społeczny. W pierwszej części artykułu autor przeprowadza analizę ekonomicznych i politycznych czynników wpływających na silę konkurencji podatkowej oraz przedstawia dowody na strategiczny charakter konkurencji podatkowej w tym regionie. Druga część zawiera analizę społeczno-ekonomicznych implikacji konkurencji podatkowej. Na końcu artykułu autor przedstawia wnioski i rekomendacje dla polityki gospodarczej.
