Abstrakty

Miastotwórcza funkcja turystyki jest odzwierciedleniem znaczenia jakie turystyka posiada w strukturze funkcjonalnej miasta. W strategii rozwoju wielu miast funkcja turystyczna znajduje się na pierwsze miejsce. Na turystykę miejską składają się wszystkie uwarunkowania i przejawy aktywności turystycznej występujące na danym obszarze. Miasta stanowią jeden z głównych celów podróży turystycznej. Ruch turystyczny kieruje się nie tylko do metropolii i historycznych centrów wielkich miast oraz średnich i małych, które mogą zaoferować przyjezdnym różne formy spędzenia wolnego czasu. Omówiono wskaźnik funkcji turystycznej miast wojewódzkich w Polsce.

The city-building function of tourism is a reflection of the significance of tourism in the functional structure of a city. Cities have been major tourist destinations since tourism began. The scope of a city's interaction on an international scale can be attributed to its perceived attractiveness in the world. Historical cities, religious centres, and large cities that serve as economic, scientific, cultural, political, and communication centres attract international tourist traffic. The role tourism plays in a local economic system is decided not only by the tourist amenities and the extent of tourism (in terms of both the offer and number of visitors), but also the size of the city. Tourist traffic is pulled in by both metropolises and historical centers of large cities, as well as medium and small cities that offer visitors various ways to spend their leisure time. The role and importance of tourism in the development of cities are revealed by indicators applying the numbers of beds and tourists visiting the city to the number of permanent residents and the area of the city itself. Tourism in many Polish voivodship capital cities plays an enormous role in their socio-economic development. (original abstract)
