The main aim of the study was to determine the structure of product image for products described in terms of personality traits. In the first stage qualitative research was conducted, in which approximately 10,000 product category associations were collected. Next, the most frequent associations were used in a quantitative study, in which 425 students took part. Principal component analysis allowed to distinguish the most important perception dimensions of dispositional product image at the individual and aggregated levels. Cluster analysis, in turn, allowed to identify the product categories that were characterized by the greatest similarity in their personification process. Scales with high reliability indices were worked out for the measurement of dispositional product image. (original abstract)
