An Application of the Dynamic Programming Methods to Optimising the Sales of the Preferable Goods

Abstrakty
The paper attempts to adapt the dynamic programming methods of the sequence decision processes to optimising the sales in relation to preferable consumer goods. The decision processes refering the preferences appear to be similar to the Markov processes and so they can be described by means of the transitory matrices. Because of these matrices it is possible to present the directions and tendency of the transition from one kind of preference to another, and to determine the system in its equilibrium. Since we deal with different alternatives of choice in the consumer decision making it is possible to use the dynamic programming methods to determine the optimal sequence decisions. Tnis paper presents one of the easier methods of the dynamic programming, namely Howard's method, which was used to optimising the potential sales in relation to three preferable kinds of shoes in their four colours as alternatives. This example can be generalized to another cases. (original abstract)
