Abstrakty
Chciałbym tutaj wypowiedzieć się na temat akademickich "rozmówek", tj. takiego języka, jakiego używa się w tym środowisku i - co nie mniej istotne - jakiego powinno się nim używać, rzecz jasna, w zależności od tego, kto mówi, do kogo mówi, kiedy mówi itd. W ten sposób wskazania te mogą pełnić w jakimś stopniu funcję praktycznego poradnika dla tych, którzy chcieliby, ale jeszcze nie potrafią poprawnie rozmawiać "jak akademik z akademikiem". Trzeba jednak już na wstępie wyraźnie powiedzieć, że tego typu "poradnik" nie jest w stanie zastąpić nauki, którą się otrzymuje, funkcjonując przez wiele lat w tym środowisku, przechodząc (przy okazji) szczeble akademickiej kariery; na każdym z nich czegoś nowego można się dowiedzieć. Dodam jeszcze, że ograniczam się tutaj do trzech rodzajów akademickich wypowiedzi, tj. oracji, konwersacji i dyskusji, ale jest ich rzecz jasna znacznie więcej. (fragment tekstu)
This study is a short guide for all those who either to become a part of the academic community or already belong to it, but at the same time have trouble mastering its language. I am limiting myself here to three kinds of academic utterances, namely orations, conversations, and discussions. Obviously there are more of them, however, the three listed above are among the most frequently used. Each of them combines in itself elements of tradition dating back to the Middle Ages and elements of modernity or at least adaptation to contemporary realities. Academic oration are not only ceremonial and solemn speeches made on special occasions but also verbal addresses on such prosaic situations as seminars, conferences, scientific councils, meetings of students with their teachers and masters. The same refers to conversations and discussions. All of them have their own repertoire of expressions. Proficiency in using them is nearly as difficult to achieve as fluency in a foreign language. However, learning them is necessary for someone who wants to manage in this community without difficulty. It takes even years for a person to master them because successive secrets are being revealed while moving up the academic career ladder. In this paper I differentiate various levels of academic "chats" and repertoires of expressions connected with them. A certain measure of playfulness appearing in the paper should not play down the fact what arcana of talking like 'professor to professor', 'professor to doctor, and 'doctor to doctor' constitute an important part of academic life.
