Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przybliżenie funkcjonowania Światowego Islamskiego Forum Ekonomicznego (World Islamic Economic Forum – WIFE) oraz próba odpowiedzi na pytanie, jaka jest rola tego ugrupowania w procesach integracyjnych zachodzących w regionie krajów muzułmańskich. (fragment tekstu)

In this article, the author looks at issues related to the activities of the World Islamic Economic Forum, which had its first meeting in 2005. The aim of cooperation within the framework of the Forum is to bring Islamic countries closer together and to decrease socio-economic disparities by creating free trade areas among Islamic countries. The author aims to explain how the World Islamic Economic Forum operates and to assess its role in regional integration processes among Islamic countries. The activities of the Forum may help to bridge the economic gap between member states and in future to create an integrated grouping that could transform itself into a dynamic community. One can expect that if active measures are taken within the framework of the World Islamic Economic Forum, the result may be closer co-operation and deeper integration between Islamic countries. Support for the ideas proposed by the World Islamic Economic Forum will also help to improve the image of Islamic countries and therefore foster co-operation between those countries and Western Europe. It should be stressed that an in-depth assessment of the activities of the World Islamic Economic Forum will only be possible after a period of time, when an analysis can be conducted from a broader perspective and appropriate conclusions drawn.
