Deaf Culture, Hearing Culture: the Trust on Group Boundary Concepts of Intercultural Frictions

This article focuses on the intercultural issue of trust. Trust or distrust, is a special relationship, which often emerges at the crossroads of cultures between the Deaf and the hearing (D-H); Functioning ambiguously - depending on the person's perspective - cultural or pathological definition of the deaf community impairing on the effectiveness of an intercultural dialogue. Inevitably, people that are part of the Deaf culture must be perpetual cultural educators. In the case of intercultural dialogue, the first problem between the Deaf and the hearing is: can deafness be placed within the framework of culture. Most importantly, the matter raised in this article will cause problems embracing cultural deafness. (fragment of text)

Autorka artykułu przedstawia miejsce niesłyszących w społeczeństwie. Postawione zostaje pytanie, czy można już mówić o kulturze głuchych w opozycji do kultury słyszących. W dalszej części opracowania autorka zastanawia się nad możliwościami dialogu tych kultur.
