The purpose of the paper, methodology and approach: This paper presents a methodology proposal for the implementation of lean manufacturing system adapted to the particular characteristics of Mexican SMEs. The findings of this research are the following: Methodology proposalBasic concepts for its practical validation The conclusions and limitations presented in this research are the following: A lack of knowledge about the concept and about the objectives of lean manufacturing by Mexican SMEsThe results obtained during validation process will allow to develop a general methodology of implementation of lean manufacturing in Mexican industrial plants (original abstract)
