Statistical Analysis of the Effects of Selected Factors on Household Poverty in the Slovak Republic Using EU SILC 2006 Data

The article provides an analysis of the social situation of households based on results of the statistic survey EU SILC 2006. It was undertaken to monitor the occurrence of poverty in Slovakia. Using logistic regression, we analysed the influence of selected factors on poor households. Based on the results of the conducted analysis it can be concluded that a significant dependability exists between the variable poverty and the following other variables: basic economic activity of the head of the household, type of household, number of dependent children, number of adults in household, region of the household, age of the head of the household, tenure status, gender of the head of household.
