Zagadnienie rodności należy do najbardziej złożonych i trudnych do objaśnienia zjawisk demograficznych. Trudność polega na wzajemnie powiązanych czynnikach, które mają charakter racjonalny oraz irracjonalny. W artykule omówiono proces rodności w Republice Federalnej Niemiec.

In the paper the progenitive process in the Federal Republic of Germany is characterized. The course of life births, legitimate and illegitimate births is presented. The problem of the births is approached with reference to the resident population and aliens. As a follow up to the consideration described by the topic of the paper the analysis of the total and standarized fertility rates is carried out. The analysis makes possible to show up the progenitive attitudes of Germans and non-Germans. A good deal of attention is payed to the main factors that have a conclusive hold on the level of the birth process in FRG. Among others, the influence of marriages, divorces, and consensual marriages is presented. Particular note is taken of the impact of economical factors on the forming the progenitive attitudes of the German population (costs of living and education, women employment, consumptive attitudes against life). Some of the demographic phenomena occurring in FHG are compared to those in Poland. (original abstract)
