Dokonana została charakterystyka tych uczelni, oraz analiza porównawcza z uczelniami non profit. Przeanalizowano poszczególne elementy marketingu-mix uczelni for profit, z uwzględnieniem strategii produktu, komunikacji, cen i dystrybucji. Autor charakteryzuje typowe grupy docelowe uczelni for profit. Egzemplifikacją dla przedstawianych tez są przykłady z największej uczelni tego typu w USA i na świecie - University of Phoenix.
