Welfare Determinants: Educational, Occupational and Income Perspective

Abstrakty

The process of forming an effective economic policy requires characterization of socioeconomic condition of the population and identification of the determinants driving the current situation. In this paper we assume, the characterization can be presented in three perspectives: educational, professional and financial. We propose to investigate those areas basing on the poll data. We employ the machine learning techniques to find the patterns in geographical and socio-economic data, especially in the context of the status inheritance. We utilize the data from Polish General Social Survey 2002. The identified dependencies are verified basing on theoretical and empirical evidence from economic literature. (original abstract)
