Abstrakty
At present, tourism is attractive, but also highly competitive sector of the economy. Consequently destination managers look for variety of sources to obtain competitive advantages. An important factor stimulating the development of destinations is the cooperation of its stakeholders. In this article the author presents the model for cooperation aimed at developing the competitiveness of destinations. This cooperation usually has two directions: the resources area and the image area image, resulting in the development of resources competitiveness and the image competitiveness. In both cases, there are numerous stimulants and barriers of the cooperation. The prepared model is the basis of an empirical expert study, which indicated the lack of cooperation in the case of Polish destinations, particularly in resource cooperation. Experts evaluating stimulants and barriers of the cooperation also pointed to the predominance of the second group of factors, which also negatively affects the level of cooperation. As a result, it appears to be necessary to promote the idea of cooperation among destinations' stakeholders, particularly in destinations characterized by lower levels of attractiveness.
