Customer loyalty has been the object of intense interest in both the business and the academic worlds. Academic research has discovered important differences in loyal behaviours among consumers with different demographics. Assuming that people with different demographics show different loyalty levels, one can state that they will require different ways of selling, they will react differently to the activities taken to build loyalty, and will also have a different value for the company. A literature review shows that the most commonly analyzed, (in the context of loyal customer behavior) demographic variable is gender. Evidence suggests that women and men differ in how they process information coming to them, in their buying attitudes, responsibility, or the interpretation of market phenomena. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the behaviour of loyal customers of banks in terms of their demographic characteristics. The studies do not allow to clearly indicate the significant influence of gender on attitudes and behaviour of loyal customers using banking services in Poland. Differences between men and women, shown in this study are minor. However, they allow noticing a slightly lower propensity towards loyalty among women. (original abstract)
