The purpose of this paper is to determine how the innovation is disseminating across the supply chain. The literature based research has been conducted to find out what are the differences between the diffusion and transfer of innovation and at what levels of supply chain the innovation occurs. The findings from literature review resulted in creation of supply chain innovation spreading model. The way innovation is disseminating across the supply chain is pictured on the Toyota Production System basis. Toyota has been chosen as an example due to the fact, that TPS (Toyota Production System) took the first place on the Dan Gilmore's list of the top 10 supply chain innovations of all-time.
