Przedmiotem opracowania jest percepcja ryzyka pracy twórczej przez doktorantów Uniwersytetu Ekonomicznego w Katowicach, zaś jego celem utylitarnym - dostarczenie wyników badań empirycznych w tym zakresie, które mogą być przydatne w doskonaleniu programów studiów doktoranckich.(fragment tekstu)

The study presents the results of empirical research concerning the perception of creative work risk among 138 PhD students, conducted by means of a random survey. Opinions of PhD students concerning the scope of their doctoral theses were collected. The reasons for performing their work as well as the dynamics of the motivation to write their doctoral thesis were diagnosed. Additionally, it was examined whether creative work of the PhD students generated doubts related to such factors as the correctness of the formulated hypotheses or choice of research methodology. Accordingly, the research enabled obtaining information concerning emotions ac-companying PhD students while writing and it indicated the most common limitations to their creative scientific activity, as well as their fears. During the research the PhD students assessed the impact of their creative work on their health and relations with others, they also estimated the connection between the effects of their work and the effort put into it. The results of empirical research concerning the perception of creative work risk by PhD students may be beneficial for improving curricula for doctoral courses.(original abstract)
