In order to identify the role of third wave regionalism and relevant patterns in evolution of the RTA landscape, this article sets out to classify RTAs according to type and degree of market integration. The mail purpose of these analyze will be to characterize trends in creation of RTAs and changes over time. Main actors of third wave regionalism are presented, the number of RTAs disaggregated to bilateral aggregations and the different types of RTAs are analyzed. (original abstract)
