Abstrakty

W artykule przedstawiono nowy produkt, występujący na współczesnym rynku reasekuracyjnym, określanym jako zintegrowane zarządzanie ryzykiem (integrated risk management, IRM). Produkty te, odznaczające się elastycznością efektywnością oraz szerokim pokryciem ryzyka, oferują dużo większe możliwości wpływania na wynik operacyjny zakładu ubezpieczeń niż zawarcie reasekuracji klasycznej (tradycyjnej) i hedgingu finansowego. Przedstawiono różne warianty zastosowania IRM w praktyce. (fragment tekstu)

The paper is devoted to the new reinsurance forms, called Integrated Risk Management solutions (IRM). The flexibility and the efficiency these products provide for risk management of the operating result, go far beyond the possibilities offered by separately purchasing traditional reinsurance and financial hedging. IRM products differ fundamentally from traditional reinsurance, first of all in the scope of protection. In addition to pure insurance risk they may cover financial risks as well, for instance interest rate changes, stock index movements or fluctuations in foreign exchange rates. They are constructed in such a way that they provide optimal protection against losses arising from both the insurer's assets and liability side, that is they offer the full balance sheet protection. The paper presents various variants of IRM products (single-trigger protection, double-trigger protection, single-trigger protection with switching structure). (original abstract)
