The aim of this article is to establish the main reasons of migration among older people and what are the social and health consequences of this type of migration. Two different types of migration were investigated: migrations to family members and migrations in search of better life quality. This paper relates the classical theories of human migration, however the finding indicates that the migration phenomenon among population after sixty can not be considered and compared to the other group ages. The migration of older population is governed by specific reasons, which in majority of cases are connected with retirement and changing health conditions. (original abstract)
