Abstrakty
W artykule przedstawiono w ogólnym zakresie rozwój teorii i praktyki badań reprezentacyjnych, gdzie omówiono podstawowe prace teoretyczne, które przyczyniły się do postępów badań reprezentacyjnych na świecie.
The author revised development of the theory and practise of sample surveys using materials from the session of the International Statistical Institute in Helsinki, that took place in August, 1999. He discussed theoreticcil hasis of sample method emphasising random and modal attitude. Next he presented development of designing ąuestionnaires highlighting the meaning of computer supported interviews for data quality. Then he discussed methods of estimating data quality and mistakes in statistical surveys, surveys periodically repeated including prohlems connected with panel surveys and problems of smali area estimation. He characterised briefly practise of sample surveys in Poland and he submitted some postulates on the further development of sample surveys. (original abstract)
