Abstrakty

Artykuł ma charakter przeglądowy i koncepcyjny. Jego celem jest projekcja systemów klasy Business Performance Management, także w kontekście innych kategorii systemów. Badania skoncentrowano na takich systemach informatycznych, jak: Business Intelligence, Business Activity Monitoring, Business Process Management, Enterprise Application Integration, Business Service Management i Business Performance Management. Za kryteria przeprowadzonej analizy przyjęto: wykorzystywane technologie, funkcjonalność i korzyści płynące z zastosowania systemów. Analizy dokonano na podstawie literatury przedmiotu, "dobrych praktyk" stosowanych przez liderów branży IT, między innymi Hyperion, BEA, SAP, IBM, oraz na podstawie własnych empirycznych spostrzeżeń. This article aims to present the essence, architecture and functionality of Business Performance Management as a class of management information systems. First of all the article presents the definition and main features of Business Performance Management system. Then relationships between Business Performance Management system and other systems, such as Business Intelligence, Business Activity Monitoring, Business Process Management, Enterprise Application Integration and Business Service Management are identified and explored. The authors finish off the article by analysing Business Performance Management functionality and technology. (original abstract)
