Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie skutków wybranych katastrof naturalnych w regionie Azji Południowej. Autor przeprowadza analizę występowania tego typu zjawisk i ich oddziaływania na otoczenie. Następnie przedstawiona zostaje międzynarodowa współpraca w zakresie przeciwdziałania skutkom katastrof naturalnych w regionie. (fragment tekstu)

According to various sources the number of natural disasters increases in the region of South Asia. For instance, Pakistan is commonly affected by flodds and Bangladesh by storms. Their occurrence often causes death or injuries of many people and as a result the decreasing quality of life in the region. In the face of these worrying facts it is necessary to make the analysis of this kind of phenomena and counteracting their results. This is the aim of this article. (original abstract)
