There is no discussion about the existing link between innovation and knowledge management in the literature and among authorities from both fields but still the majority of the companies manage the two concept quite separately and when considering them together then with the focus put into the just knowledge development and into the side of innovation called research and development where the synergies between both disciplines is indisputable and obvious; but knowledge management cannot be reduced to the generation and development of new ideas so as innovation management comprehends a wider spectrum of activities than the r&d.
