W artykule zawężono pole obserwacji do współczesnej fabryki, prezentując próby modelowania jej przyszłych struktur organizacyjnych. (fragment tekstu)
In the paper, the role of technique in shaping the organization of enterprises is shown, with the predominant tendency toward decentralization of their activities. Automation of factories, with its most recent form of integrated flexible automation, lays foundations for a great variety of organizational structures. It is shown how the available technology, combined with the integration of electronically processed information on activities and functions of enterprises, leads to a new philosophy of management and organization of the firm. The concepts of a factory of the future shaped by P. Drucker in the United States, the Japanese visions of a bionic factory and intelligent production systems, and the basic ideas of a universal concept of the computer integrated production system /CIM/ developed in Western Europe, are compared with one another. The review concludes with critical comments on the CIM from the point of view of the desired flexibility and dynamics of organizational structures, supported by the 1992 project of a fractal enterprise working in a chaos economy.
