Za realizację polityki pieniężnej w Republice Federalnej Niemiec odpowiedzialny jest Niemiecki Bank Federalny (Bundesbank). Jest on wyposażony w suwerenne pełnomocnictwa w zakresie polityki pieniężnej i ma do dyspozycji instrumenty pozwalające wykorzystywać te pełnomocnictwa. Jego uprawnienia i instrumenty uregulowane są w ustawie o Niemieckim Banku Federalnym. (fragment tekstu)

An analysis of the German Federal Bank's instruments and monetary policy's goals has been made in the article. The German Federal Bank uses a medium-period, M3 aggregate orientated strategy to control money supply. The strategy has its undeniable advantages: it is clear and relatively simple and the M3 aggregate is an indicatory value for the financial market and the economy. An efficient monetary policy requires a competent use of the instruments applied for controlling the money supply. The analysis of the German Federal Bank's indirect objectives of monetary policy shows that the bank very persistently conducts a market-orientated and stable monetary policy directed at stabilizing the level of prices, considering the new financial occurences when fixing the M3 aggregate. It also uses market orientated open market operations. (original abstract)
