Abstrakty
EN
The inherent element of the process of an IPO is underpricing, which is also an expression of the company's rates of return gained by investors on the first day of listing on the stock exchange. This is the difference between the issue price determined on the basis of a fundamental valuation carried out by underwriter after applying a discount and the closing price of the stock on the first day of trading. There are several explanations of underpricing in theory and practice beginning from formal reasons, through economic and cyclical to institutional and behavioral ones. It seems, however, that underpricing is primarily the result of intentional actions and IPO strategy element that allow investors to gain positive returns. Then debut is considered to be carried out successfully, and the company seems to be a promising and perspective. (original abstract)
