It is proposed in the article that a new set of ontological postulates to methodology economics and econometrics is introduced. On the basis of them a criterion of empirical sense of terms of production function has been formulated. The application of such a criterion to comparative analysis in natural and economic sciences leads to the conclusion that actual practice of specifying models in econometrics is, in fact, the descriptive parametrisation of empirical data. These models are based on spurious designates and because of the terms representing them, the models have incomplete relationship to economic theory. The semantic analysis of econometric modelling points to a possibility that the methodology of economic sciences is supported by logical semiotics while directions of development of econometric modelling and economic theory are studied.
