For leadership the most important element is building an authority - determining its sources and significance, which people who are to be influenced by it, accredit to particular source of authority. On the basis of research carried out among different groups of respondents, i e. unemployed and employed people, they pointed at similar significance distribution of particular source of authority. Among the most important elements crucial to building own authority, respondents mentioned readiness to share knowledge and experiences, making just decisions and possessing great expert knowledge. Strongly less significant meaning for respondents had formal sources of authority as possibility of financial rewarding and punishing or possibility of empowerment. (original abstract)
