Abstrakty
Celem opracowania jest dostarczenie najnowszych informacji o kierunkach i wynikach prowadzonych badań; w wielu przypadkach w bibliografii zamieszczono m.in. publikacje autorów reprezentujących określoną opinię. The paper presents economic consequences of International Financial Reporting Standards' adoption by enterprises from countries all over the world. The author describes the quality of financial statements resulting from IFRS adoption. The review of current publications shows that despite accounting harmonization and convergence process, the differences still exist and that comparing all detailed differences of accounting regulations is not sufficient to describe the heterogeneity in the quality of accounting. One set of high quality accounting standards that is globally adopted still does not guarantee the accounting quality improvement in many regions of the world. (original abstract)
