All said, we can conclude that nowadays mankind witnesses gradual establishment of new world order where two superpowers will take the center - stage - the EU and the USA. No doubt, reducing American influence and beefing up economic and political might of the EU will take more than one day. However, the first steps in this direction have already been taken, the adoption of the euro being one of the most significant events. Developing economies ol the EMU countries, increasing their share in the financial and commodity markets, establishment of the euro as reserve currency, and enhancing liquidity of the euro market are but few processes that will be gradually bridging the gap between the significance of the euro and the dollar. The EMU will be able to become an equal partner of the USA by using its economic superiority rather than building up its military power, and in this respect the euro factor is going to play one of the most important parts.
