Abstrakty
The publication has been hypothesized investors showing high confidence achieve above-average investment results and most are men. Its confirmation or denial associated with major stream research in behavioral finance, dedicated the influence of individual characteristics of a man on the effectiveness of investment in the capital market. In previous studies, the results obtained are very heterogeneous, the analysis of investment portfolios gender point to avoid the risk of women and risk preferences survey did not confirm this. This paper presents the results of a behavioral experiment, designed precisely to confirm the effect of confidence on the value of the investment in the stock market. The results do not suggest that confidence had an impact on the achieved efficiency of the stock market and there is no apparent correlation between confidence and sex. (original abstract)
