The intellectual entrepreneur operates in many environments, spheres or worlds simultaneously. The connections created and utilised in an action boast extraordinary complexity. This is a solid foundation for exercising influence and even clout. An intellectual entrepreneur's knowledge and personal connections relate not only to the institutions he or she runs but also to many different social institutions which, in turn, could become a valuable source of paradigms, inspirations and even material resources.
