Abstrakty

Nostalgia to szeroka kategoria oznaczająca stan emocjonalny, tęsknotę za przeszłością. Może być ona rozpatrywana jako fenomen jednostkowy, jak i część jakości, którą chce się nazywać wyobrażeniami zbiorowymi, co już samo w sobie sugeruje, iż mamy do czynienia ze sferą imaginacyjną, a nie rzeczywistą. Badacze, analizując zjawisko, akcentują przede wszystkim subiektywny, niehistoryczny, fałszywy ogląd odtwarzanej przeszłości. To naturalne, bowiem wyobrażenie jest przecież jedynie projekcją, a nie miarodajną rekonstrukcją rzeczywistego stanu. Tym samym można więc mówić o zinstytucjonalizowanym systemie pamiętania i zapominania, ponieważ przywoływany obraz ulega tak znaczącemu retuszowi, że jego finalna postać bardzo daleko odbiega od prototypu. Trzeba podkreślić, że pamięć ludzka jest zawodna i wybiórcza, z czym zgadza się chyba każdy, mając na myśli pamięć jednostkową. I dokładnie taką samą cechą odznacza się pamięć zbiorowa. Przeszłość jest kategorią tak szeroką, że człowiek nie jest w stanie całkowicie jej opanować i w miarę potrzeb nieskazitelnie odtwarzać, skazany jest więc na wieczny redukcjonizm. Upływający czas sprawia, że wydarzenia zacierają się, ulegają deformacjom, zniekształceniom. (fragment tekstu)

Nostalgia can be described as an emotional state, a deeply melancholic longing for the past regarding individual and collective imagination. Nostalgia never maps the past; rather, it is a narrative that describes people's feelings. It is to say that nostalgia tells more about the present than the past because it describes actual needs and desires. People tend to idealize those aspects of the earlier life which are the weak points now. What makes nostalgia a natural phenomenon occurring among all civilizations is that bittersweet longing for the past where a person keeps remembering the old days. This paper attempts to examine the issue of nostalgia for the Soviet Union, especially in the psychological context. It tries to answer why the people who have lived in totalitarian and felonious system are inclined to miss it. (original abstract)
