Types of Changes in Population Development for Towns and Gminas of Olsztyn Voivodeship in Years 1976-1989

Abstrakty
Czynnik czasu jest tym elementem, który powoduje zmiany w układach demograficznych, społecznych i ekonomicznych. Widoczne są one w makroskali, a jeszcze bardziej w mniejszych układach przestrzennych. Zmiany w czasie powodują różne czynniki zależnie od tego, jakiej dziedziny życia dotyczą. Przyczyną zmian stanu ludności jest przyrost naturalny i ruchy migracyjne. Oba elementy są zmienne w czasie a kierunek zmian może być często przeciwstawny i przez to osiągamy inny efekt z punktu widzenia kształtowania się przyrostu rzeczywistego ludności, a w rezultacie otrzymujemy taki a nie inny stan i strukturę demograficzną ludności w poszczególnych miastach i gminach.
In the work there have been presented classifications of towns and gminas of Olsztyn Voivodeship on the base of modified. Webb's method. The classification was realized for years 1976-1989, and subsequently - for five and four year periods. Decisive majority of towns represented a progressive developmental type, most of it in years 1976-1980 and type C in years 1986-1969, while in years 1981-1985 - type B. Small towns more frequently changed developmental type than bigger ones. However, decisive majority of gminas represented a degressive developmental type H, with the exception for years 1981-1985 - when the progressive type A slightly prevailed. Decisive majority of gminas changed their developmental types, most frequently from H to A, or to the contrary - from A to H. In years 1986-1989 there were more gminas of progressive type (9), than in years 1976-1980 (only 3). However, numerical data show, that gminas of A type keep transforming into H. From 1977 to 1985 the number of A - type gminas grew, and the number of H - type gminas fell. Since that year, the opposite process has been observed. Most gminas of H type are placed in the northern part of the voivodeship, while gminas of A type lie near Olsztyn and in the western and southern parts of the voivodeship. An interdependency was observed between types of development of towns and gminas. Namely, towns of progressive type of development were more frequently surrounded by gminas of A type, whereas towns of degressive type of development were surrounded only by gminas of H type. Developmental type of individual gminas is influenced also - to a larger extent - by local factors, preventing outflow of part of the population. (original abstract)
