Abstrakty

Peryferyjne położenie województwa suwalskiego względem ośrodków absorbcji siły roboczej czyni go ciekawym obiektem badań z punktu widzenia kierunków odpływu ludności. Celem artykułu jest zatem prześledzenie kierunków odpływu ludności ze wsi i z miast w latach 1976-1987 i udzielenie odpowiedzi czy wobec zmian zachodzących w rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczym poszczególnych regionów następowały także zmiany w geograficznych kierunkach odpływu oraz czy kierunki i odległość odpływu decydowały o cechach demograficznych osób emigrujących. Materiały, które posłużyły do analizy, otrzymano w Głównym Urzędzie Statystycznym, a następnie przetworzono je na EMC zgodnie z potrzebami opracowania.

The author tried to answer the question, if changes in the socio-economic development of regions were followed by the shifts in the directions of population outflow from a periphery voivodeship. In years 1976-1987 larger decrease in population outflow from urban to urban than rural areas was reported. The decrease in the outflow of females to urban areas was larger than that of males. Considerable decrease in outflow from urban areas to both - urban and rural areas outside the Suwałki Region took place. As for the rural population, its share in otflow to towns decreased only insignificantly. For the total of rural population outflowing to towns, the percentage of persons remaining in the Suwałki Region increased. Less rural than urban population left the region. There existed large differences in sex and age of persons outflowing to urban and rural areas, as well as in the division into the Suwałki and the remaining part of the country. Author's opinion is, that the socio-economic and political crisis resulted in the fact, that the small settlement system /as it exists in the area, of Suwałki Voivodeship/ were affected by the crisis to a lesser extent owoing to the strongly preserved migratory bonds.
