Abstrakty

W artykule dokonano próby syntetycznego uporządkowania konceptualnego ujęcia instytucji. Przytoczono najważniejsze definicje tego terminu, a także najczęściej przywoływane na gruncie ekonomii instytucjonalnej i neoinstytucjonalnej argumenty wskazujące na fundamentalne znaczenie instytucji, ich sprawności i jakości w rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczym współczesnych gospodarek. Oprócz kwestii definicyjnych, szczególną uwagę zwrócono na zagadnienia związane z pomiarem jakości instytucji. Przedstawiono wybrane wskaźniki oceniające instytucje i ich jakość, z których jedne badają jedynie poszczególne elementy struktury instytucjonalnej, inne zaś stanowią agregaty badające szerszy wymiar instytucjonalny. Wnioski wskazują na konieczność pogłębiania badań obejmujących stworzenie uniwersalnego pomiaru do kompleksowej oceny gospodarek. (abstrakt oryginalny)

The article is an attempt to synthetically regulate the institution's conceptual notion. The main definitions of this term are mentioned. The main arguments originate from institutional and neo-institutional economics which indicate the fundamental importance of institutions, their efficiency and quality in social and economic development of contemporary economies. The author also focuses on topics regarding measurement of institutional quality. Special indicators evaluating institutions and their quality are shown. Some of them examine only particular parts of institutional structure, others are the aggregates which describe wider institutional dimension. Conclusions indicate the necessity for intensifying research on the creation of universal measurement of economy evaluation. (original abstract)
