W opracowaniu podjęto próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie, w jakim stopniu formalna instytucja tworzona w ramach działań zbiorowych, jaką jest kodeks etyki zawodowej, skutecznie identyfikuje obowiązki maklerów wobec inwestorów oraz zapewnia, poprzez wyznaczone środki przymusu, ich bezwzględne wypełnianie. Tylko bowiem taka instytucja może skutecznie wpływać na budowanie zaufania w relacjach między maklerami i inwestorami. W ramach studium przypadku dotyczącego kodeksu etyki zawodowej maklerów wykorzystano głównie tezy nowej ekonomii instytucjonalnej. (abstrakt oryginalny)

According to New Institutional Economics (NEI) the effective institutions should align the interests of stockbrokers and investors. The purpose of this paper is to test the hypotheses of NEI in Polish stock markets. (original abstract)
