Rozwój sytuacji międzynarodowej w Arktyce a delimitacja obszarów morskich na Oceanie Arktycznym

Abstrakty

Następstwa zmian klimatycznych zachodzących w regionie Arktyki oraz towarzysząca im zwiększona aktywność państw nadbrzeżnych w zakresie eksploracji Oceanu Arktycznego przyczyniły się w ostatnich latach do wzrostu zainteresowania "społeczności międzynarodowej" tym obszarem. Uwaga została skoncentrowana zarówno na problemie negatywnych konsekwencji nowej sytuacji, jak też na wizjach znacznych korzyści, które mają pochodzić z niedostępnej do tej pory Arktyki. Chociaż tempo zmian klimatycznych obserwowanych wokół bieguna jest nadspodziewanie szybkie, to perspektywy eksploatacji obszarów arktycznych mają, jak na razie, charakter raczej hipotetyczny. Nie zmienia to jednak faktu, że zarówno dostęp do spodziewanych bogatych zasobów surowców energetycznych, jak i kontrola arktycznych szlaków morskich są już obecnie przedmiotem międzynarodowej rywalizacji.
