Abstrakty

Przedmiotem eseju jest koncepcja podmiotowości w kontekście jej relacji ze strukturą społeczną w procesie społecznego stawania się. Przedstawione zostały argumenty na rzecz stanowiska, że przy akceptacji analitycznego dualizmu podmiotowości i struktury "ostatnią instancją" ontologiczną i epistemologiczną są działające jednostki - osoby/podmioty - wyposażone w rozum i wolną wolę, obdarzone indywidualną tożsamością opartą na refleksji nad doświadczeniem dotychczasowego biegu życia. Podmiotowość rozważana jest w ujęciu subiektywnym i obiektywnym. Analizowana jest też prawomocność przypisywania statusu podmiotowości czy sprawczości zbiorowościom. Stojąc na gruncie założenia o realnym istnieniu nie tylko świata naturalnego, lecz także społecznego, przyjmowane jest stanowisko metodologicznego indywidualizmu "w ostatniej instancji", na rzecz którego przemawia analiza podmiotowości. Stanowisko to nie kwestionuje realności struktur i mechanizmów społecznych, tzn. ich niezależności od jednostkowej zdolności do ich poznania czy refleksji nad nimi. Realność struktur społecznych nie oznacza zaś ich samoistności, czyli możliwości ich wystąpienia, trwania i zmiany bez działających jednostek. Wskazano też istotne związki pomiędzy podmiotowością a motywacją do osiągnięć oraz, przez nią, zagadnieniem przedsiębiorczości, co otwiera nowe perspektywy badawcze. (abstrakt oryginalny)

The main concern of the essay is the concept of subjectivity in the context of its relation to the social structure in the process of social becoming. Th e paper argues that, if we accept the analytical dualism of subjectivity and structure, "the last instance", both ontological and epistemological, are the actors - persons/subjects - equipped with reason and free will, endowed with individual identity built on their refl ections concerning their experience of life. Subjectivity is considered in both the subjective and the objective approach, the legitimacy of ascribing the status of subjectivity or agency to collectivities is also analyzed. Since we assume that the natural and the social world really exists, we also accept the view of methodological individualism "in the last instance", as it is supported by the analysis of subjectivity. Th e view does not question the real existence of the social structures and mechanisms, namely their independence from individual capability to perceive them or to refl ect on their qualities. Th e real existence of social structures does not, however, mean that they are independent from individual actors, i.e. that they can exist, last or change without the involvement of people. Th e essay also presents signifi cant relations between subjectivity/agency and achievement motivation, and therefore, also the issue of entrepreneurship, which opens new research perspectives.
