The paper discusses the mechanism of the impact that internationalisation has on a company's competitive position. A basic measure of the evaluation of the internationalisation process in the context of its effectiveness is the proposed concept of company internationalisation maturity based on the network approach. Company internationalisation maturity is examined in terms of three main components which embrace 10 specific components, namely time advancement of the internationalisation process, the advancement level of internationalisation forms, the formalization level of internationalisation, openness to cooperation, the atmosphere of cooperation, trust as a part of cooperation with key entities. It is assumed that the higher the level of company internationalisation maturity, the greater the likelihood of achieving better results compared with those of closest competitors.
